Four years ago I turned an Excel file into my personal budget record. Over time I’ve learned several new ways to approach things in said file.
Before that I just wrote down — monthly — what was going out, vs. what was coming in. Truthfully, not my finest hour. While true — for that particular month — it didn’t provide me the insights, or context, needed to make any (sudden) next move. Now, I know about 6 months in advance, what payments are coming up.
With some trial & error though. 😉
So, if you are looking for a way, to temper those impulse purchases. Start keeping track of your expenses. Your older self will thank you for it.
But the prompt’s question was, was it hard? I thought it would be, and sure it took some time to learn Excel. But in the end it was all worth it, and way easier than I had imagined it (aside from a few mistakes in formulas, which gave some unhappy surprises). 🤭🙄🤫😉
That’s all folks!

End of line.
Kindest regards,
Alex
